SPECIAL EVENT COMMITTEE

Private Tour of a Renowned Garden and Autumnal Floral Demonstration

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7

3:00-5:00 PM

at 6619 ELGIN LANE, BETHESDA, MARYLAND 20817

Charter 100 DC Special Events Committee is pleased to announce a special outdoor event for its members – a private tour of Gail Jacobs’s exquisite gardens and floral demonstration of autumnal fauna and flora.

Gail has devoted her career to bringing the natural beauty of field and garden into the home environment. She has spent decades lovingly tending to her expansive garden, resulting in beautiful hardscapes which enhance the plantings of seasonal flowers, grasses and evergreens. The garden is designed as individual “rooms” with surprises around every corner.

Gail and her garden have been featured in several magazine articles and have been included in major books on gardening.

In addition to walking us through her garden, Gail will demonstrate her unique style of flower arranging which embraces the subtle artistry of nature. Her arrangements have been displayed at Washington embassies, museums, the VP Residence, the National Building Museum, annual house and garden tours, gala receptions and events.

This Special Event will be outside, except for tours of her studio for vaccinated attendees wearing masks. Wine and light snacks will be served as well as tea. Due to cobblestones, flat shoes are recommended.

This Special Event is members-only and free. (Rain date is Friday, October 8.) RSVP deadline is Sunday, October 3. Parking is on the street in front of Gail’s house.

For more information about Gail and pictures of her garden and work, visit www.flowercraftbygail.com and flowercraft on Instagram.
