Membership Process

Each year, members may propose candidates for membership by April 1.

  1. Each candidate must attend three Charter 100 official events.  The reason for three events is to allow both the candidates, and the members to have an opportunity to get to know each other and therefore make an informed decision about membership. Although we look to official events as vehicles for introducing potential members to the club, members should not limit their guest list to only potential candidates.

  2. Each candidate must have a sponsor and a co-sponsor. Sponsors must be active members of the club in good standing, must have been a member for a full year (i.e., by the time a final decision is made on the candidate), and must be current in yearly dues and event fees.

  3. Candidates must provide an application and resume.  Each sponsor and co-sponsor must submit a comprehensive letter about the candidate.  The candidate's file will be considered complete when the application, resume, and both sponsors’ letters are received.

  4. The Membership Committee reviews all completed applications and then recommends candidates to the Executive Committee. Those selected as prospective members are up for election by the full membership at the Spring Annual Meeting.

  5. Within one week of the Annual Meeting, the Membership Committee Chair and/or the President will notify each candidate both by phone and in writing of the decision on her application for membership.
